Social Psychology an interesting career-related topic

The last year, I discoursed about Social Psychology. In this moment, I told my classmates what is it? And now, I tell to you:

The Social Psychology is the study of how social conditions affect human beings. Scholars in this field are generally either psychologists or sociologists, anyway all social psychologists employ both the individual and the group as their units of analysis. Despite their similarity, the disciplines also tend to differ in their respective goals, methods, and terminology. They also favor separate academic journals and societies. It’s an interdisciplinary area like biophysics and cognitive science.

The psychologists, who study social psychology, are interested in such topics as attitudes, social cognition, cognitive dissonance, social influence, and interpersonal behaviours such as altruism and aggression.

Instead, the sociologists work focused on the behaviour of the group, and thus examines such phenomena as interactions and exchanges at the micro-level, group dynamics and group development, and crowds at the macro-level.

So, Psychology and Sociology aren’t the same because psychologists are interested in the immediate social situation, and the interaction between person and situation variables. On they other way, the sociologists are interested in the individual and the context of larger social structures and processes, such as social roles, race and class, and socialization.

What can I do if I’m a Social Psychologist?

When you’re a Social psychologist you can work in different places, for example you can do researches about social memory, study other countries, and a lot of diverse activities.

My last weekend…

Today I want to tell you about my last weekend, really it was very exhausting because I had to work all day. Yes, I work in Ripley Parque Arauco on Saturday and Sunday. Since the summer, specifically on the 11th February of this year, I work there. In the first place that I worked, it was in the shoes department, then in the boys’ clothes department and now, if the supervisor approve me, I going to work in sport Department. I have to attend public, also I have to sell and rearrange the things, for example coats, jeans and t-shirts.

Every weekend, I start to work at eleven o’clock; then in the midday, I often order some things or I attend public. After, about two or three o’clock in the afternoon I usually have lunch. I finish work at about nine o’clock in the evening.

Well, I don't have any more tell you. See you another day.

Hi!!!

A lot of time, sorry I haven’t time to write in my blog. Today, I want tell you about a song, which it isn’t my preferred, but I like it very much… her name is: “My Sacrifice” and it’s a single released by the rock band Creed, which appear in their final album “Weathered” (2001).

I like this song because make me think about a lot of thiungs, for example my friends, the problems that you can have in the life, the hopes and dreams of liberty, the interior fight ( you can love anybody but sometime you are a bad person with him/her), the loneliness. In fact, I think that the single is very sad, but I like because make me reflect. Also I like the musical harmony and, obviously, the lyrics.

My name is Juan Paulo Marchant, I’m 21 years old. I live in Santiago, Chile and I am student of psychology in the Universidad de Chile.

This is my first time writing a in Blog and I don’t know very well what I can say, but I’ll try to write something amusing, so I’ll start by telling you about my life; my family.

So, I live with my mother in a house in Recoleta district, near to Barrio Bellavista. It’s a good area, a nice place with a lot parties, bars and restaurants for to share with friend.

I like to listen to music, I watch TV only sometimes because I haven’t got much time, I go to pubs and read mysteries magazine. Oh! Sorry, I forgot tell you that I’m working at Ripley Shop the weekends.
